What the driver of a truck barreling down the highway or maneuvering in heavy traffic sees out the windshield and in side-view mirrors is not always what he or she gets. The view out even the cleanest windshield can only reveal what's in eyesight range and the most painstaking mirror setup won't completely eliminate blind spots to the rear or back of a vehicle.
That's why fleet owners, industry suppliers and safety experts have long sought better ways to enhance drivers' vision of what is in front, beside and behind the trucks they drive.
We now have it, a full Black Box design with live video function!!!
Description The Pro Mobile DVR (SMD-04) is a 4 camera 120fps (real-time) digital video and audio recorder system especially designed for use in vehicles. Contained in a small but rugged, vibration and shock resistant case, the SMD-04 is an excellent choice for vehicle security and surveillance applications and when portability is a factor.
The ability to connect from 1 to 4 CCTV cameras and display and record at a full 30fps per camera with a choice of MPEG1 or MPEG2 compression makes the SMD-04 a powerful and high performance DVR in its own right. Add double shock and vibration protection, LAN and Internet connectivity, external CD-RW and hard disk back-up port, removable hard disk, vehicle status and speed display and recording, super reliability and a highly competitive price and the Pro SMD-04 stands out as a leading state-of-the-art mobile DVR.
-Configurations Pro 4 Channel Mobile DVR (SMD-04)
Details: The SMD-04 is an embedded (Non-PC) DVR contained in a small, rugged metal case that uses special vibration dampers to protect the system for shock and vibration. In addition, the hard disk(s) are also separately shock mounted within the case for extra protection.
User control is either by IR remote controller or from a remote computer system connected by LAN or Internet. The IR read head for the remote controller can be located up to 20’ from the DVR. Video can be displayed, live or recorded, on a monitor (not supplied) connected by S-Video or RCA connector.
Recording Time: One 120GB hard drive is standard with each system. This will typically hold between 3 and 10 days of video and audio recordings, depending on recording speed, level of compression and whether motion detection recording is used. A larger hard disk or an additional hard disk may be used for greater storage capacity.
-Key Features Excellent Image Quality The Pro SMD-04 Mobile DVR provides excellent video display, recording and playback quality for 1 to 4 cctv cameras through a choice of MPEG1 or MPEG2 compression codecs. Recorded video quality can be chosen from 1 of 6 standard quality levels or from 3 user definable levels. Video Speeds Live video display and recording on all cameras is always “real-time” – 30 frames per second (fps) per camera, giving totally lifelike video. Video Display Cameras can be displayed in a quad format or individually, full screen. Auto-switching from camera to camera is supported and the dwell time per camera can be user set. Vehicle Status Sensor The vehicle status sensor connects the Pro SMD-04 Mobile DVR to a vehicles' brake, turning, hazard and reverse signals, allowing this information to be displayed and stored on video recordings. In addition, the vehicle’s speed can be displayed and recorded on video providing that the vehicle uses the Hall IC vehicle speed sensor.
These powerful features enhance the video and audio recordings to show whether correct driving procedures were followed, in the event of an accident or incident.
Alarm In/Out Four “Alarm In” connections allow specific cameras to be put into record mode on receipt of an “Alarm In” signal. Such Alarms could include School Bus “Stop Arms” and/or Flashing Lights or Police Car Sirens and/or Flashing Lights. 2 “Alarm Out” connections allow devices such as lights or audible alarms to be activated by motion detection on camera Multiple Recording Methods Video can be recorded continuously, on motion, on alarm, or by schedule. Different cameras can have recording methods set independently. Motion Detection Up to 16 Motion Detection zones can be set per camera or the whole field of view can be used. In addition, motion detection sensitivity can be chosen from 9 levels of sensitivity, so that accuracy of recording can be ensured. Recording Playback Log files can be searched by date, time and alarm state. Play back can be in single or quad camera displays and switched to single camera full screen (and back again) with the push of a button on the remote control. Security and Stability ID and password protection are provided so that some people can simply use the system but cannot make any changes, while others can be allowed to make appropriate adjustments. Because no software is contained on the hard disk, software corruption or tampering is totally avoided. Viruses from Internet connections cannot be written to the system. Powerful Remote Control The Pro SMD-04 uses a standard Internet browser for remote connection, with User ID and Password protection. Up to 5 remote users can simultaneously monitor the same mobile DVR site through the Internet or LAN. Up to 4 remote cameras can be viewed, and remote configuration of all DVR sites is possible, under password protection. Video recordings from SMD-04 DVRs can be played back on remote PCs using Windows Media Player or similar. Audio Recording Up to four channels of audio can be recorded with the Pro Mobile DVR. Recorded audio can be played back, channel by channel, in synch. with a single camera video playback. PTZ Camera Control Through an RS485/RS232 converter, PTZ cameras can be locally and remotely controlled for panning, tilting, and zooming. Video Export Exporting the video as 'evidence' or for archiving is simple and easy. Video can be burned onto a CD or hard disk directly from the Pro SMD-04 by connecting the supplied cable to the front of the DVR and attaching a CD-RW drive or hard disk. Video can also be exported by connecting the Mobile DVR directly to the internet, Ethernet LAN or by cross-over Ethernet cable to a PC. An alternate method is to take the removable hard disk to another SMD-04 connected in a LAN and copy the video to a PC hard disk across the LAN.
